*ೋ Straight Only Prom *ೋ Sullivan Indiana

Dan Savage wrote an article in the Slog, about a high school in Indiana that would be hosting a Straight only prom. Exactly at 8:24 Pacific Time, their facebook page was shut down. I guess they were getting a lot of flack for being a gay-hating group.

Lucky for me, I had the foresight to get on that site and track down some of those members, starting with the ones who were leaving comments. As they made a decision to go public with their gay-hate, and their public facebook pages, then I feel that I have the right to repost the images they advertised in the first place.

So lets take a look at some of these scumbags..

Among the supporters is Diana Medley, a special education teacher at nearby North Central Jr./Sr. High School in the Northeast School Corporation, who told WTWO she doesn't believe anyone is born gay.
"We don't agree with it (homosexuality), and it's offensive to us," she said. "Homosexual students come to me with their problems, and I don't agree with them, but I care about them. It's the same thing with my special needs kids. I think God puts everyone in our lives for a reason."
When asked if she thinks gays have a purpose in life, Medley said, "No I honestly don't. Sorry, but I don't. I don't understand it."
"A gay person isn't going to come up and make some change unless it's to realize that it was a choice and they're choosing God," Medley told WTWO.

  1. Hey, just wanting to make sure that you realize this isn't the high school or any administration at the high school organizing the "straight-only" prom. It's a minority in the community. The school isn't discriminating at all with its fully-inclusive prom. Please don't smear my entire hometown because of a group of bigots. They don't represent the majority.

    1. Andrew,

Your hometown has smeared itself. Have you thought to stop, and tell all those bigots to stop spearing your hometown? I doubt it.

It is clear you do not know me very well. I will smear what ever redneck town I want to.

    2. First and foremost, I'm not sure why you take umbrage with me, considering that I both spoke out against the prom and didn't attack you in any way.

Yes, I have spoken out against them. I don't make excuses for them and sure as hell don't support them. I've spoken up and will continue to support the high school for doing what's right and not discriminating against students for who they are. Don't be so quick to judge me in your anger with the bigots. It's clear that you don't know me very well.

And of course, you're free to do whatever you want with your blog. I don't dispute that. It's just unfair to throw the entire town under the bus because of a small minority of its populace.

It's sickening that this "prom" is being discussed, let alone organized.

    3. Umbrage with you? What did you consult a thesaurus before posting that comment?

I responded to you - Because you posted on MY BLOG. DUH

  2. Nope. No thesaurus needed. Thanks, though? Anyway, have a nice day.
