    I really love boxwood gardens framing formal garden beds with a black and white checkered path. I think it is an absolutely beautiful look. 

    This space is beautiful and welcoming, the trees however would not work in my part of the world. I have something personal about people in Washington State who think it is a good idea to grow palm trees. The palm trees grown here are 'meh', because of this climate you will never really grow a good palm tree - so why bother? It is non-sense to me. We live in Washington State, we have magnificent evergreen trees, tall, medium and small to plant around our homes. Kent Valley Nursery sells an excellent selection, I have been buying plans from them for years. Trust me, you do not have to copy what the hippies do.
